Westerville, OHIO, USA—ABB received an order from ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, a steel producer in Contrecoeur, Quebec, Canada, to upgrade their ABB AbilityTM System 800xA Human Machine Interface (HMI) in their profile mill to system version 6.0 with AC400 connect. ABB will also retrofit some of their DC Drives.
ABB AbilityTM System 800xA provides the functionality of a Distributed Control System, Electrical Control System and a Safety system to help plant operators make accurate and timely decisions.
ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada is a steel producer with locations in Quebec and Ontario. They specialize in the manufacture of semi-finished products such as billets, slabs, bars and rod.
