Westerville, OHIO, USA—Private oil and gas leader PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MedcoEnergi) renewed and extended its ABB Service Agreement for its site located in Lematang Block, South Sumatra province, Indonesia. The three-year agreement continues the same ABB rapid response and preventive maintenance services as the MedcoEnergi’s previous two-year agreement, and adds a Human Machine Interface (HMI) upgrade to MedcoEnergi’s existing ABB AbilityTM System 800xA.

ABB AbilityTM System 800xA provides the functionality of a Distributed Control System, Electrical Control System and a Safety system to help plant operators make accurate and timely decisions. The HMI upgrade includes features that will provide increased operator efficiency, safety and capacity.
